The second courthouse erected on this site was a Gothic building which very quickly developed flaws in its structure, and it was soon replaced.
The original courthouse fountain just outside the main door facing Third Street.
Current fountain stands at the main entrance to the Vernon Parish Historic Courthouse.
The Courthouse Band Stand stood on the Southwest corner of the Courthouse Square.
The gazebo was built to replace the bandstand on the courthouse lawn. It currently houses the bell that was originally in the cupola atop the courthouse and used to call people in for special events / emergencies.
