With the Leesville Lions Club Rodeo in full swing, we at Leesville City Hall were honored with a visit by Scarlet Brantley, Miss Rodeo Louisiana 2024 and Lydia Touchet, 2025 National Little Britches Rodeo Queen. These lovely young cowgirls are traveling the state to promote the sport of rodeo.
Scarlet is preparing to compete in the Miss Rodeo America 2025 pageant in Las Vegas during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. She is the daughter of Keith and Suzette Brantley, and is proud to call Loranger, LA home. She is currently attending Southeastern Louisiana University. Since 2018 she has been a flag team member, serving first with the TNT Sweethearts and now serving as captain of the Louisiana Lightning team and has competed in barrel racing since her junior year in high school. During her visit, City Administrator, Patti Larney, presented her with a proclamation naming October 3, 2024 "Scarlet Brantley Appreciation Day" in the City of Leesville.
Lydia is from Lacassine, Louisiana and a senior in high school. She has been a member of the NLBRA for ten years where she competes in barrel racing, pole bending and the trail course. In addition to the national title, she is also currently serving as the Miss Louisiana High School Rodeo. Mrs. Larney presented Lydia a Certificate of Recognition for all her hard work and dedication to promote the sport.
Congratulations for all your successes to both of these charming young ladies and good luck in your future endeavors! Watch for them at the Leesville Lions Club Rodeo.
