The Atlantic hurricane season extends from June 1st through November 30th. Although, being so far inland, the City of Leesville could traditionally expect only increased amounts of rain and the occasional tornado thrown off from hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, in recent years wind damage has been much more extensive and citizens are advised to be prepared and heed all warnings as they occur.
