[ARCHIVED] City of Leesville planning Community Christmas Party

Jingle and Mingle

Yes, we are aware that it’s not even Thanksgiving yet and Leesville City Hall is already putting up our Christmas lights. But there is a very good reason – we’re getting everything ready for a community Christmas party to be held in our parking lot on December 3rd.

This year's event, the Jingle and Mingle, will offer lots of fun activities to start the holiday season. Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a number of elves, will be here to pose with children for free pictures in his sleigh.

Gumbo Contestants NeededThe United Pentecostal Church of Anacoco will sing traditional Christmas carols and we invite everyone to join in.

There’ll also be vendors to shop and a Gumbo Cook-Off.  A number of teams have already signed up for the cook-off, each hoping to win the coveted Championship trophy, and we’re expecting more within the next few days. Click here if you’d like to participate. Or, if you just want to taste and vote for your favorite, we’ll be selling tickets at the event for $6.00 each, which will entitle you to a small bowl of gumbo from each participant.

Parking is available at the Masonic Lodge #240 at 100 W. South Street and Tail ‘Gators at 111 West Harriet Street.

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will also be available after noon or so – they are hosting their Breakfast with Santa event that morning, and since they’re being kind enough to allow us to use their parking space, please be considerate of their event as well.  Santa Claus and Elf
