Mayfest, winner of the Louey Award for 2012 Louisiana Festival of the Year, is an annual event hosted by the
Vernon Parish Tourism Commission on the first weekend in May.
A huge line-up of musicians from many backgrounds and genres perform on the outdoor stage located on Third Street in downtown Leesville.
Admission is free and visitors are invited to bring their own chairs or blankets and find a comfortable spot on the historic courthouse lawn where they can enjoy two days of music and fellowship.
Mayfest brings vendors from all over the state who offer a huge assortment of goods for sale. Not to be outdone, food trucks/vendors are on hand, providing a great variety of dishes -- no two the same -- for you to try.
The event starts on Friday afternoon with entertainment until about 10pm and kicks off again on Saturday morning with the Leesville Lions Club Pancake Breakfast and the Armadillo Stampede 5K / Fun Run.
