The Historic District Commission of the City of Leesville renders the decisions concerning the approval or disapproval of changes of property in the Historic District.
Permit applications involving minor repairs, painting, or signs must be submitted to the city clerk, at least seven days prior to the date of the following Historic District Commission meeting. Applications involving new construction, extensive renovation, repair of an existing structure, or demolition must be submitted 35 days in advanced of meeting. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, excluding December, at 5:00 P.M., in the City Hall Courtroom.
In addition to applying for a permit (Certificate of Appropriateness) from the Historic District Commission, applicants must verify to the City Code Enforcement Officer that they have obtained all licenses and permits from all pertinent governmental agencies.
