The Finance Department directs and manages all departmental budgets for the City of Leesville. She controls the receipt and disbursement of funds and maintains accurate financial records.
The Finance Office also oversees the following offices:
The City receives funds from several sources, each dedicated to a specific purpose. The Finance Officer ensures that each is administered as directed by the various agreements. Among these funds are:
- Capital Project Funds
- Enterprise Funds (Sewer and Water)
- Fort Polk Vegetation Control Fund
- Debt Service Funds
- General Fund
- Special Revenue Funds (Sales Tax and Public Safety)
The annual budget for the City of Leesville is prepared every year by the Mayor, City Administrator and Finance Director before being approved and/or amended by the Leesville City Council during a public Council Meeting.
An audit of city expenditures is completed every year in August, soon after the end of the fiscal year on June 30th.
