Armed Forces Honor Banner Program

The City of Leesville is proud to announce a new memorial banner program that is designed to recognize and honor our citizens who are, or have been, members of the military. 

These memorial banners will be flown from light standards throughout the city during designated times of the year. Each will bear the honoree’s photo, name and information about their time in service. 

Banners will be displayed on existing light standards located along 5th and 6th Streets (Hwy 171) from Memorial Day through July 4th and also during the week of Veterans Day each year.  The life of the banner will be for as long as the banner is in good enough quality to display – usually anywhere from 3 to 5 years. 

Program Qualifications

To qualify, the following qualifications must be met:

  • Must be on active duty or a veteran of one of the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces with an Honorable Discharge. 
  • Must be a current or former resident of Vernon Parish, Louisiana. 

Application Information

  • The cost of each memorial banner is $50, which may be paid by the individual, a family member, or a sponsor. 
  • A high-resolution photo of the service member must accompany each application. Photo must be 5"x7" or larger, color professional, portrait-style (Dress Uniform preferred).
